Trump endorses Cheney challenger
Wyoming | September 10, 2021
Former President Trump on Thursday officially endorsed Wyoming attorney Harriet Hageman’s campaign to oust Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.), setting the battle lines in what is expected to be a fierce GOP House primary. In his endorsement, Trump dubbed Hageman a loyal ally of his agenda while bashing Cheney, whom he has railed against since she voted to impeach him earlier this year over his role in inciting the Jan. 6 insurrection. “I strongly endorse Republican House of Representatives Candidate Harriet Hageman from Wyoming who is running against warmonger and disloyal Republican, Liz Cheney,” he said… (Excerpts from The Hill)

Wyoming Becomes Latest State to Ban Vaccine Passports
Wyoming | May 10, 2021
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon on Friday issued a directive blocking state agencies from using vaccine passports.
The directive requires state agencies, boards and commissions to “provide full access to state spaces and state services, regardless of a constituent’s COVID-19 vaccination status.”
The directive also urges local governments and private businesses to align their policies and practices with the state.
“Vaccine passport programs have the potential to politicize a decision that should not be politicized,” Gordon, a Republican, said in a statement. “They would divide our citizens at a time when unity in fighting the virus is essential, and harm those who are medically unable to receive the vaccine. While I strongly encourage Wyomingites over the age of 16 to get vaccinated against COVID-19, it is a personal choice based upon personal circumstances.”
A resolution calling for a “vaccine bill of rights” was introduced to the Wyoming House in March but has not been considered.
The resolution pledges to “protect [Wyoming’s] citizens against unconstitutional and medically irresponsible COVID-19 vaccine mandates.”
Wyoming joins other Republican-led states like Florida, Arizona, Texas and Montana which have blocked the use of vaccine passports. Similar measures have been introduced or are being considered in states like Michigan, Tennessee, New Hampshire, and New Jersey. Legislatures in Iowa and Indiana have also passed bills blocking such passports…

Here’s how US can address its deficit now
Wyoming | April 15, 2021
Congress continues to take actions that directly threaten the US position as a world leader
The United States has long held a privileged position on the world stage. Our economy is strong. We build businesses, innovate solutions and pioneer new technologies. We are the centerpiece of the global economy, with nations looking to our systems and our currency as their barometer.
Unfortunately, Congress continues to take actions that directly threaten this position as a world leader.
By spending more than we have and acquiring a national debt that now sits at a jaw-dropping $28.2 trillion, we undermine our economy and will eventually lower the value of our own currency.
Our staggering national debt has direct and severe consequences for our economy, household incomes and savings, policy decisions, national security and ultimately, American exceptionalism.
Yet, Congress, with the support of both Democrats and Republicans, passes bill after bill with price tags in the trillions and we don’t make plans to pay for them.
When I was in the House of Representatives, I balked at our $14 trillion in debt. I voted against President Obama’s budgets mainly because of the high level of spending. Those proposals look prudent compared to what we’re churning out now.
At the rate we are going, the Congressional Budget Office has warned that the United States could soon spend more money on interest on the national debt than it does on defense….

Governor Signs Bill Requiring Voter ID at Polls
Wyoming | April 11, 2021
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon signed a bill into law Tuesday that will require residents to show some form of identification when voting in person in the next election.
While some state Democrats criticized the bill as “voter suppression,” state Rep. Chuck Gray, a Republican, called it a “victory for the citizens of Wyoming,” according to the Cowboy State Daily.
“It is a necessary function of our Republic to provide our citizens with confidence that our elections are secure, fair, and valid,” he said. “I am proud that we were able to meet this important milestone for Wyoming.” Gray was a sponsor of the bill.
Rep. Dan Zwonitzer, a Republican, said he doesn’t believe the bill will suppress anyone’s vote because of amendments added to it that allow voters to use alternate forms of ID, such as a Wyoming student ID, Medicare ID or a tribal ID card, according to the Oil City News in Casper, Wyo….

States Pushing Back on Biden’s Second Amendment Executive Actions
Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, South Dakota, Texas, Wyoming | April 9, 2021
Multiple governors signaled that they will be taking action against Democrat President Joe Biden after Biden officially unveiled his initial plan to attack Second Amendment rights…
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said following Biden’s press conference that the president’s actions were his “initial actions,” that there “will be more,” and that he intends to “use the power of his presidency” to crack down on Americans’ constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights.
Numerous governors immediately pushed back on Biden’s attack on Second Amendment rights and indicated that they will be taking action to protect their residents from Biden’s agenda.
“Biden is threatening our 2nd Amendment rights. He just announced a new liberal power grab to take away our guns,” Texas Governor Greg Abbott (R) wrote on Twitter. “We will NOT allow this in TX. It’s time to get legislation making TX a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary State passed and to my desk for signing.”…
