ASU Students Harassed at Multicultural Center over Being White, Supporting Police
Arizona | September 26, 2021
Two white Arizona State University students were harassed at the school’s multicultural center over their race and their support for police, according to reports.
Video of the incident purports to show black students attempting to force two white male students to leave the area, claiming they were making the space “uncomfortable” with their whiteness and a pro-police sticker.“What did I do wrong?” one of the white students asked.
One of the black students said the police lives matter sticker on his laptop was offensive. “You’re making this space uncomfortable,” the student continued. A second white student said the group was making him uncomfortable, to which someone in the group replied, “But you’re white! Do you understand what a multicultural space is? It means you’re not being centered.”… (Excerpts from the National Review)

Arizona State University Debuts New Degree in Social Justice Activism
Arizona | July 6, 2021
Arizona State University (ASU) debuted a new undergraduate degree geared toward social justice activism, called community development. The course description describes education on the basics of activism, citing concepts like diversity, inclusivity, sustainability, equity, and social and environmental justice. If students enjoy studying community development, they may also earn a graduate degree in it.
“The BA program in community development equips students with tools to collaborate with, empower and educate diverse community constituents by drawing on grassroots and inclusive frameworks such as sustainable development, social and environmental justice, participatory democracy, social and economic equity and social accounting,” reads the course description.
ASU’s School of Community Resources and Development within the Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions offers the degree. In addition to requiring a second language, the degree also calls for basic college-level math.
School of Community Resources and Development Professor Mark Roseland explained in a press release that students would combine knowledge of sustainable development, social and environmental justice, participatory democracy, and communicating impact of various entities’ actions on society to make a “circular economy.” Roseland projected that the circular economy envisioned would be worth $2.7 trillion annually by 2050…

Tom Cotton Introduces ‘SECURE CAMPUS Act’ to Stop Chinese Spying at Universities
Arizona, Tennessee | May 24, 2021
Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) introduced a bill to stop the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from conducting espionage on American college campuses.
According to a press release from his office, Sen. Cotton re-introduced the “SECURE CAMPUS Act” on April 22. The bill would “prohibit Chinese nationals from receiving visas to the United States for graduate or post-graduate studies in STEM fields and would ban participants in China’s foreign talent recruitment programs and Chinese nationals from taking part in federally-funded STEM research.”
Sen. Cotton remarked that “Allowing China unfettered access to American research institutions is akin to granting Soviet scientists access to our critical laboratories during the Cold War.”
“We shouldn’t allow the Chinese Communist Party to exploit the openness of American research institutions any longer,” he added in the press release. “The SECURE CAMPUS Act will help stop Chinese nationals from stealing U.S. technology, which the CCP uses against our own troops and businesses.”
“It is time we put an end to China’s abuse and ensure our intellectual property remains secured. I am proud to re-introduce this legislation with Senator Cotton,” said Rep. David Kustoff (R-TN), who introduced companion legislation in the House.
The bill text says that the Secretary of Homeland Security may not admit to the United States “an alien who is a citizen of the People’s Republic of China if the Secretary of State determines that the alien seeks to enter the United States to participate in graduate-level or post-graduate-level coursework or academic research in a field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at an institution of higher education.”..
