Republican Florida Gov. DeSantis files for reelection
Florida | November 9, 2021
Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has filed to run for reelection, his campaign announced Monday.
Records with the state elections division show DeSantis filed Friday, marking a formal start to his expected candidacy.
DeSantis has become one of the highest profile governors in the country, with his opposition to coronavirus lockdowns and mandates from the White House and local governments winning him praise within the GOP. He is also eyeing a 2024 presidential run.
In a statement, DeSantis‘s campaign highlighted his pandemic policies, the sweeping election law he signed earlier this year and the state’s school system, among other things. In his public appearances, DeSantis has largely aimed his political attacks on the Biden administration rather than the three major Democrats hoping to unseat him…(Excerpts from the Washington Times)

There are now more registered Republican voters than Democrats in Florida for the first time in the Sunshine State’s history.

Republicans fight for Latino voters in Democratic strongholds
Arizona, California, Florida, Texas | October 13, 2021
Latinos make up the largest non-white ethnic group in the United States. Voting rights activists from Mi Familia Vota said after years of being ignored, they are seeing significant investments from politicians trying to reach out to the Latino community. As the largest non-white ethnic group in the United States continues to grow, Latinos have become a focal point for Republicans and Democrats alike. But Héctor Sánchez Barba, the executive director and CEO of the Latino-focused civic engagement organization Mi Familia Vota, said that Latino voters must be prepared to identify which efforts are performative and what political promises will be kept. “Nobody has a free ride with the Latino vote,” Sánchez Barba told ABC News. “The important part is this is not a transactional element, just for the Latino vote. It [must be] a serious holistic engagement on Latino priorities.”…. (Excerpts from ABC News)

Trump Rising
Florida | September 27, 2021
The polls, which I trust as far as I can throw Michael Moore, are showing something interesting beyond the fact that crusty President Badfinger has fallen and can’t get up. According to Rasmussen, in a head-to-empty-head contest between President Trump and that desiccated old weirdo, Trump has a 10-point edge. He’s 12-points over Kamala, who will probably run in 2024 since * is likely to be sent off to a farm upstate with Major the Dog. So, does this mean Trump will run in 2024? Well, it sure as heck makes it more likely.
The stars are aligning for a potential comeback story for the ages. We have a barely conscious pseudo-president botching everything he touches, an inept, razor-thin Dem Congress engaged in public autophagy over how many trillions we don’t have we will squander, and a population getting sicker and sicker of being lied to, manipulated, bossed around, ripped off, and lorded over. The sight of the same jerks who insist that you have to gag your screaming toddler while partying down mask-free is galling. The vaxx mandates that the Kreepy Karen Korps is so proud of imposing are turning out to be aimed right at minority Americans who, understandably, are reluctant to trust government scientists bearing jabs. ID to vote – racist; ID and a passport to work or eat – great! And then there’s Afghanistan, the border, inflation, and CRT – it’s a veritable smorgasbord of disasters. Opinion. … (Excerpts from Townhall)

Poll: Trump dominates 2024 Republican primary field
Florida | September 21, 2021
Former President Trump is the clear favorite to win the GOP’s 2024 presidential nomination if he decides to mount another bid for the White House, according to a Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll survey released exclusively to The Hill on Monday. Nearly 6 in 10 Republican voters surveyed — 58 percent — say they would vote to put the former president back on the ballot in 2024, suggesting the party is ready and willing to give Trump another chance after his 2020 loss to President Biden. No other potential 2024 Republican candidate comes close to matching Trump. … (Excerpts from The Hill)

The signs that he is going to do this are getting stronger and stronger. But still, with Trump, anything could happen.
