New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is calling upon Facebook to take steps to counter abortion-related “misinformation.”
In a letter to Facebook founder, chairman and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the governor requested “information on any and all existing efforts to combat misinformation regarding abortion laws, procedures, and their availability.” She also pressed for Zuckerberg to, “Take additional action to curb the spread of this misinformation, as Facebook has with information related to COVID-19, vaccines, and voting rights.”
Hochul was sworn in as the governor of the Empire State last month after Andrew Cuomo stepped down amid a chorus of calls for his resignation after investigators concluded that he had sexually harassed multiple women. Cuomo said that he “never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances.” Hochul is first woman ever to serve as governor of the state…. (Excerpts from the Blaze)

Pro-life Leaders Urge Congress To Protect Hyde

62 pro-life leaders from national and state organizations, including New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, recently sent a letter to congressional leadership urging them to fight for the Hyde Amendment and other similar longstanding pro-life riders to be included in the federal budget. The signees correctly anticipated that the riders, which must be added during the appropriations process each year, would not be included in President Biden’s proposed budget.
The letter reads in part:
“As recently as 2006, then-Senator Biden was on the record opposing tax funding of abortion, saying, ‘I do not vote for funding for abortion… I won’t support public funding.’ Yet when on the presidential campaign trail in 2019, he flip-flopped to support abortion funding, directly contradicting his longstanding position…
